Power Caps

Jason: What the purpose of a cap?

it releases energy instantaneously, then what happens? … It has to charge, and then release and charge.

… At what point does a cap have time to charge?

Steve: …. Between tracks (laughs)

Jason: …. you have this cap which is like a cup of water, and you have the faucets which is like your battery or your alternator …. its constantly pouring out and constantly pouring in, its not going to do anything.

Steve: So what’s the big deal about caps, why does everyone still ask about caps?

…. they want their lights to stop dimming! ….

But then these guys are putting in caps caps because the headlights are dimming, meaning the audio system is pulling so much power away from that charging system that the headlight are showing a visual effects of that.

…. audibly there’s no sags, but maybe the headlights dim, so here’s the reality; if the headlights are dimming and you wanna sell a cap to fix it, why are we putting it on the amp? We should be putting on the headlights because that’s what your actually having a problem with. With the music like Jason said, the cap is on its side and all the water is flowing out constantly, its not doing a damn thing for your audio system.
